LETTING AND THE LAW: ADVANCED

This course is aimed at experienced staff involved with residential lettings and provides information on less common issues that may arise and judicial precedence on various subjects.
The day will cover the following topics:
- Housing Act notices including Sections 6, 8, 13, 22
- The Rent Assessment Committee
- Judicial precedence relating to notices under S21(4) (a)
- Creating a clause and options to renew
- Sharers swapping; one sharer using a break clause
- One sharer giving notice in a fixed term or a periodic term
- Landlord or tenant death
- Landlord or tenant imprisonment
- Landlord or tenant as a company in liquidation
- Abandonment and Torts (Interference with Goods) Act 1977
- Grounds for possession for tenant breach (Housing Act tenancies)
- Local Housing Allowance overview
- Accommodation Agencies Act 1953
- Occupier Liability Acts 1957 & 1984
- Equality Act 2010 – Disability
- Practical problem solving
